Sad Mess Sun

Once upon time
there was a time upon once
was there equals
time to cry?
cry over equals?

Denominating balance?
dominating ballast, a weight to wait
Fractions unadded? parts slashed apart
to unmake wholes, left a hole—rent, torn

Decimal contraction?
a constriction contracted into a single point
an unending repetition of an infinite series?

Once upon time there was there equals
there equals there, time was once upon

acceleration over drag,
friction's deceleration
linear disparity, celerity's curve

constant subtraction,
infinitely redressed
and dramatic planes.
shift with gravitational pull

Arcs swallowed plots,
cubes folded. to rectangles

Now wavelengths twist, as well as spin
light's velocity amiss.

Good poem.

My favorite line is:

Once upon time there was there equals

It's funny how origin stories always need to begin by reassuring us that one equals one.

Time begins at the moment where one equals one for the first time
